GLORIA GAYNOR - I WILL SURVIVE 1979

'I will survive' was originally a B-side to 'Substitute' and covered by Diana Ross....
So the "thumpa thumpa" continues. It always will. No matter what happens. No matter who's president. As our lady of Disco, the divine Miss Gloria Gaynor has always sung to us: We will survive. "Michael Novotny"

DIANA ROSS - I AM COMING OUT... 1980

Do we need to say more!!
Nile Rodgers said that he got the inspiration behind the song after going to a California discotheque and noticing several drag queens dressing up as none other than Ross.

VILLAGE PEOPLE - YMCA 1978

Even though they had quite a gay appearance and the group was obviously meant for the gay music market, as far as known only two members of the Village People were gay: The indian Felipe Rose and cowboy Randy Jones. Rose was discovered by Jacques Morali when he worked as a dancer in gay bars in New York.
